SBP is a national disaster recovery and resilience organization that started in New Orleans following Hurricane Katrina. For ten years, SBP's mission has been to shrink time between disaster and recovery. We help low-moderate income families rebuild with an emphasis on the elderly, disabled, and families with small children. SBP is able to function in a fast, efficient, and predictable way because of three factors: 1) our dedicated AmeriCorps members, 2) our sponsors and financial supporters, and 3) our committed volunteers. Our team has been on the ground in Texas since the Memorial Day Floods. To date, we have rebuilt over 1,060 homes nationally and we have committed to rebuilding 30 homes in San Marcos within the year.
